Untirta Joined Ritech Expo 2019 in Commemorating The 24th National Technology Awakening Day

DENPASAR, (BTP) – The peak of the commemoration of the 24th National Technology Awakening Day 2019 takes place at Renon Puputan Field of Denpasar, Bali. Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. (H.C) Drs. H. Muhammad Yusuf Kalla attended the event accompanied by the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof. M. Nasir and regional heads and officials from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. The participants of the activity came from the Ministries and related institutions, the Regional Government, Higher Education and the private sector. The Vice President in his speech conveyed his congratulations to the award winners at the 24th National Technology Awakening Day in 2019.

The Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education reported a series of activities on the 24th National Technology Awakening Day in 2019. Several activities were carried out, such as a leisurely walk with 20,000 participants and the RITECH EXPO exhibition involving elements of academic, business, government and community in the field of technology. On this occasion a video was also presented by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education achievements in the field of technology.

Untirta in this activity opened 2 booths, they are the 4-in-1 booth of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Project (University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, University of Mulawarman, Malang State University and University of Jember) of the Directorate of Science and Technology Resources and Higher Education, as well as the booth of Center of Excellence (PUI-PT) for Food Security. The booths were filled with food security products from Untirta and the development progress of the Untirta Sindangsari Campus which is a hard program of the 4-in-1 project funded by IsDB. In addition to hard programs, the 4-in-1 project also implements Soft Programs, Overseas Degree Training, Overseas Non-Degree Training and Domestic Non-Degree.

It is expected that this activity can be a means of improving quality and also as an exposure to the public about the achievements that Untirta has achieved especially in the 4-in-1 project. The related lecturers and leaders of IsDB Untirta also attended and played an active role in this activity to explain to visitors regarding the event.

Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information Systems of Untirta, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hj. Kartina AM, M.P, on that occasion said that this activity was important to be followed as a means of exchanging information and to inform the public about what Untirta had done as a center of excellence in the field of food security. “Untirta is the only university that has become a center of excellence in the field of food security in Indonesia,” she said.

It is expected that Untirta can improve annually the quality in the development of technology in the field of food security.

PIU-IsDB Executive Director, Dr. Eng. Agung Sudrajad, said that in the middle of 2020 the 4-in-1 project will be completed, so far the project has run smoothly and as planned. “The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of higher education in the fields of education, research and community service,” he concluded.
